Stats You Need ("the App") is a Shopify application developed and operated by Stats You Need ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our App.

1. Information We Collect

When you install and use Stats You Need, we access the following data from your Shopify store:

• Orders — order details, amounts, dates, UTM parameters, and discount codes
• Products — product names, variants, and sales data
• Customers — aggregate customer metrics (number of orders, tags). We do not store personally identifiable customer information.
• Analytics — store traffic and referral data

We do not collect any data beyond what is necessary to provide the App's functionality.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your store data exclusively to:

• Display analytics, order statistics, and UTM attribution within the App
• Generate charts and reports visible only to you
• Cache data temporarily to improve performance

We never sell, share, or transfer your store data to third parties.

3. Data Storage & Security

Store data is cached temporarily in secure Redis storage (Upstash) with automatic expiration (maximum 24 hours for historical data). Your Shopify access token is stored securely and used only to fetch data on your behalf.

All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information.

4. Data Retention

Cached order and product data expires automatically after 24 hours. When you uninstall the App, your access token and all associated cached data are deleted from our systems within 48 hours.

5. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party infrastructure:

• Vercel — hosting and serverless functions (Privacy Policy)
• Upstash Redis — temporary data caching (Privacy Policy)

These providers are used solely to operate the App and are bound by their own privacy policies.

6. Shopify Merchant Data

We comply with Shopify's API Terms of Service and Shopify's Privacy Policy. We only request the minimum scopes necessary to provide the App's functionality.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Request deletion of your data at any time by uninstalling the App or contacting us
• Request information about what data we hold about your store
• Object to any data processing activities

8. Cookies

The App is embedded within the Shopify Admin and does not use independent cookies. Shopify's own session management handles authentication.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
